These are the questions we get asked a lot. Here’s what we say.
About the Bakery
What is the Palestinian connection?
Bunhead was founded by Sara, who is Palestinian.
That is where our flavours come from — it is why we bake the way we do.
Sometimes the question gets asked with a sense of accusation. While mostly well-intentioned, that can be painful.
We are proud to be Palestinian-founded.
We share this food because it means something — to us, and to the people it reaches.
That is the connection.
What are your opening times?
We are open from 8am on Thursdays and Fridays, and 10am on Saturdays and Sundays.
We close when we sell out, which happens often. If not, we close by 3pm on weekdays and 4pm on weekends.
Want the full menu? Come early.
When can I get a sandwich?
We make sandwiches on Thursdays and Fridays only.
They are fresh, stuffed, and sell fast.
Where can I find your menu?
We post the next day’s menu on Instagram each evening — follow us @thebunheadbakery.
It changes often to keep things exciting and reduce waste.
No Instagram? No problem.
Come by, and our team will talk you through the menu.
Food and Ingredients
Is the bakery halal-friendly?
Yes. Everything we make is vegetarian, with no animal rennet or animal byproducts.
Except one thing — our Guinness Cake, which contains alcohol.
The name gives it away.
Is the bakery vegan-friendly?
Our bun dough is vegan. Some toppings and fillings are not, but around half the menu is vegan every day.
Vegan options are clearly marked in store, and we post the next day’s menu each evening on Instagram if you want to plan ahead.
Do you have gluten-free options?
We do. Gluten-free options are clearly marked in store and in the daily menu we post on Instagram.
Do you cater for allergies?
We do our best to label allergens clearly, but everything is made in a small kitchen that handles nuts, gluten and dairy.
If you have a serious allergy, speak to a member of the team before ordering.
Ordering and Merch
Can I pre-order?
We do not take pre-orders for everyday bakery items.
Everything is first come, first served. Come early for the best choice.
If you are planning an event or want to place a custom order, you can do that through the Contact Us page.

How can I get knafeh?

It is best served hot and shared with people you really like.
Where can I get your merch?
We do not sell our merch online just yet — it is only available in store.
At the moment, our We Are All Palestinian collection is sold out.
We do still have a few bakery tote bags and Girls Just Wanna Have Buns t-shirts in stock.
Pop in to have a look, and keep an eye on our Instagram stories for updates.
When it is gone, it is gone.
Accessibility and Info
Is the bakery accessible?
Yes. We have a ramp available for wheelchair access.
If you need help getting in, just ask someone from the team, and we will set it up for you.
Can I bring my dog?
Yes. We are dog-friendly. Bring them in.
We will probably try to say hi.
